- Part 7 of KINK -

Reading is an intimate experience.

Watch as your mind transforms the random scribbles into a wonderland of meaning.

When a book ends, something new in you begins.

You approach the world slightly changed.

A part of the author will forever be a part of you.

The words chosen, the pacing, and the feel, all leave their mark.

You learn vicariously through the characters’ actions and their consequences.

Watch how you question the morality of their decisions and how your fantasies are shaped along with theirs.

You will not leave as the same person who entered, and therein lies true intimacy.

You don’t know what a book will do to you before you read it.

You have no way of knowing what you will become.

Good authors are like an intuitive lover, when you let them in, they will fuck your mind in the most delightful way.

They will tease, entice, and edge you.

They will scare you in the best ways, pushing you beyond your perceived limits and into new worlds of excitement and ecstasy.

You can of course say no.

You can put the book down and walk away.

But if an author is good at what they do, you will be craving more.

Begging them to take you on another adventure.

Forever cloaked in the embrace of bittersweet anticipation.

The excitement of beginning a new story combining with the dread of knowing that it will eventually end.

They will build you up towards a climax and then expertly deliver with clever tricks, seemingly created, just for you.

Then the story ends.

But not for you.

Because you will forever remember the ride.
