Your mind, your body, your spirit.
Honour them.
Wake early.
Sit in silence.
Then move,
Attend the iron church, or run, or dance.

Humans have a proclivity towards magical thinking. The idea that for no reason other than that we are ourselves, we will be okay. We are biased of course. We see the world through our eyes, with access to our inner world. For others, we see only actions and consequences.
But what happens when the darkness comes? When your prayers are not answered? When you fall victim to illness, or crime, or acts of nature?
What happens if you believe yourself to be above it all? That your actions have no consequence?
Contemplating these kinds of questions lead me to the decision that I should always choose wisely, because I will face consequences for my choices.
Learning how I write is a constant journey of trial and error, interlaced with lots of self-doubt. I say this short prayer before and after a writing session as a way to prime myself to write, and then to continue on with the rest of my week.
