Historically speaking, we live in the most peaceful time in existence; yet there is still a prevalence of crime and violence - instance of which many of you will know first hand.

I always felt out of place growing up, both socially as well as internally - I would feel the need to ‘act to fit in’. The problem was that this act wasn’t me, and it wasn’t sustainable.
Clearly I did not have a secure attachment. The fear and neglect I faced growing up has ramifications to this day.

My father was an addict and a drug dealer. He never harmed me directly, but the clientele he let into his house were a different story.
In his house, exposed to that world, I learnt a lot.

From a child’s perspective, they seemed to have only one goal - acquiring their next high. Growing up in this environment had a profound impact on my life and world view.

119: Stop Criticising People Who Donate To The Bush Fires - We Are In Desperate Need Of Their Money!
Every time someone donates hundreds of thousands (if not millions) towards the bush fires, they are criticised.
Every past flaw or issue is highlighted. 'Remember what they did, they are a terrible person because of...' Perhaps they are.
But it is important to note, that everyone is human, and someone will despise every public figure. Thus they will all receive this treatment.
Perhaps we should instead be grateful for the money, and encourage more of that behaviour. It is desperately needed after all.

Big dramatic changes are almost impossible to maintain. Eventually your motivation will fall and life problems will surface, leaving you to fall back on prior habits.

It acts as a trigger for action that when implemented, takes you through the steps necessary to get the help that you may need.

Social media uses algorithms designed to promote maximum engagement.
It does this by showing posts to people who will engage (positively or negatively) - typically this is the same people over and over again.
This creates an echo-chamber that distorts your reality - if left unchecked it can make you feel like the whole world is split (and viciously attacking each other) all around the issues closest to you.
This will corrupt your thinking and is simply untrue.

It is vital to remember that there is no one way to be successful (creatively, financially, spiritually, socially).
Successful people (and the unsuccessful alike) will offer endless advice. They will share ‘there truths’. Some of this will work for you, most won’t.

Black and white thinking, splitting and looking for the worst in people/events are hallmarks of BPD symptoms.
Personally I find this very trapping. I know I am doing it, and don’t want to cause loved ones duress, so I stay silent (thus remaining trapped). It can feel like their is no way out.

108: Why If I Get 'Triggered' It's On Me
Childhood neglect and past trauma leaves a mark. Overtime, these can resurface in the form of ‘triggers’ - internal emotional reactions to environmental stimulus.
In this episode, I share my unique viewpoint on being triggered: Namely that is is on me to manage my triggers, and it is not the fault of the person triggering me (unless they are doing it intentionally of course).

It is important to remember that every successful person kept turning up. They just kept going, pushed though, put in the work. They started from the same place as all of us. They had many reasons not to put in the work. Yet they did.
They took advantage of their natural attributes and upbringings of course, but they worked. If they can do it so can I - and so can you!

105: Create A Killer Morning Routine
All forms of self-improvement involve small steps repeated daily. A morning routine is the best way to get this into your life. It guarantees that you will do all the tasks, learning and personal development that you desire – but haven’t yet found time for.
So if you want to lose weight, get fit, learn a language, start a meditation practice, and have a clean house, or if you just want to be well primed to tackle the day ahead; a morning routine is a must.
